Break your Heart is a book born of an immersive, participatory writing process, an association between Cosmogama and 5 middle-school students from Geneva. In November 2023, Fabrice Melquiot set up his chair at the back of the classroom. For 5 days, he haunted Camille, Lou-Anne, Yann, Lucie and Chris. He dragged his white sheet between observations, note-taking, photo-taking, workshops, silences and conversations. During the evenings, he wrote, in the still-vibrant resonance of the encounter. Then the texts and photos of this ghost writer were formatted by Jeanne Roualet.
Break your Heart is the first volume in Cosmogama’s L’Écrivain Fantôme collection. Creation produced in collaboration with the Maison Rousseau et Littérature.
