Cosmogama has imagined a cycle of 4 sound fictions in connection with 4 cities (Sète, Fécamp, Le Mans, Nanterre) and in partnership with 4 theaters (Théâtre Molière in Sète, Théâtre Le Passage in Fécamp, Les Quinconces-L’Espal in Le Mans, Nanterre-Amandiers). The cycle is entitled Tout terriblement (All terribly), in homage to Apollinaire, and the fictions are written and composed in five days, in situ, by four hands: Sophie Berger on sound, Fabrice Melquiot on text.
Initially, there is just one idea, one starter, one fuse: to recount the year 1989, to explore the fall at the edge of the Fécamp cliffs, to invent a real fake signing show, to revisit an anthology soccer match, to reinvent the memories of an Avignon Festival spectator.
France Culture recorded these fictions performed in the presence of spectators, to give them a radiophonic form.
Tout terriblement speaks from the present to the present, plays with urgency, the desire to meet, listening to a territory and its inhabitants, the poetry of reopened memories, landscapes to discover.
Each sound fiction is accompanied by a docufiction written by Fabrice Melquiot around figures of writers related to the 4 cities: Paul Valéry in Sète, Jean Lorrain in Fécamp, Paul Scarron in Le Mans, Blaise Cendrars in Nanterre.
